i'm pam moore. a full hour of your prime- time news at eight. starts right now. the sierra nevada has never seen a fire this size. the flames now covering 250- square miles and no expected anytime soon. the fire lines just five miles from tuolomne city. and closing in on san francisco's source of power and water. we have team coverage on the "rim fire". which tonight is still burning out of control inside and outside yosemite national park. here's the latest. the fire has now burned almost 150 - thousand acres. it is now the 13th- biggest fire in state history. firefighters say containment is up to 15 percent. and the fire line is now only about a mile away from the hetch hetchy water

fire is only getting bigger in just three days, the fire has exploded. lok at how much it has grown since friday. it is now ranked as the biggest fire ever in the sierra nevada. and it is guaranteed to grow bigger. fire crews are letting it burn in this direction, toward the high country where the vegetation is thinner. they have stopped the fire near hetch hetchy reservoir. the o'shaughnessy dam is surrounded by smoke, but no 1 camp mather to the south, the vacation site was incinerated over the weekend, along with berkeley's camp tuolomne. continuing our coverage on this wildfire, kron 4's charles clifford is in thousands of firefighters square miles. on monday...

as charles clifford just mentioned. the beloved camp, run by the city of berkeley, is also a casualty of the fire. screen, you can see web photographs of what the like before the fire. and on the right is new video of the devastation there. we spoke to a former counselor who says he has been going there just about every year since he was a baby. and adds. this destruction is heartbreaking for so many people. "why would i love?" planned to marry. they meet 20 years ago. while she interviewed him on a case she worked on. alana remembered how coke would hide his criminal
